The entire book is simply beautiful! You've done a masterful job
of grouping Sara's poems about a wide range of topics into a work that makes sense and has a clear and strong flow to it. I simply couldn't be more pleased. I hope I'm conveying just how strongly positive I feel about the work you've done. Pat Kovar |
Self-Publishing Assistance
I would love to help you self-publish your book! I have self-published one book of my own (The Everybody Club) and managed the publication of a hardcover memorial poetry book (Lilac Dreams) and am very interested in doing more of this kind of work. Since I’m still learning about the technical aspects, I will keep my rates low.
This is what I can do for you:
I regret that I am not able to provide assistance in the areas of marketing or public relations. However, I’m happy to pass along any contacts or resources that I think would be a good fit for your project. Why should you hire me, a relative newbie, when so many companies offer these services? The answer is personal attention. Let me put it another way: I care. For better or worse, I find it next to impossible to crank out work just for the sake of a paycheck. When I take on a project, I want to do it well. It doesn’t matter that this would be your book, not mine. My instincts are to aim high and strive to bring out the full potential of a book project, come hell or high water. (But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!) Having entered self-publishing territory myself, I know how overwhelming—and at times, downright predatory—the industry can be. In all honesty, most of us will not make much money with our books. The money tends to go in one direction: out of the writer’s pockets and into a business’s profits. Still, in spite of all the odds and obstacles, we are drawn to do it because we crave the satisfaction of holding our own book in our own hands. So let’s do it together! If you’ve read this far, you must have a manuscript you are longing to send out into the world. Send me an email and tell me about it. Let’s talk. |
